Coaching & Mentoring
Coaching is an interactive process where the coach guides and facilitates the client's progress towards defined goals. Our coaching follows a seven-step process with the agenda always set by the client being coached: Step 1 - the contracting phase; name the challenge and describe the desired outcome
Step 2 - brainstorm possible approaches
Step 3 - develop an action plan
Step 4 - set deadlines
Step 5 - establish criteria for evaluation
Step 6 - facilitate action
Step 7 - follow through.
Usually we recommend at least 6 sessions which may be conducted face-to-face or by telephone, as the client wishes. Between sessions the client is responsible for undertaking the actions established within the action plan. If the client requests mentoring, then that can be amalgamated within the coaching sessions, provided that the coach has the appropriate knowledge and skills within the specific business area. During the coaching process, we reguarly check with the client that the goals remain valid and, if not, we revisit the action plan to re-establish viable goals. We use a wide range of coaching models to assist the client in the achievement of the aim, each model being tailored to the client's needs.
